About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work on-site in a retail environment. This role involves supporting pharmacy operations while gaining practical experience. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment and assist the pharmacy team in serving customers.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense the correct medication.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of the pharmacist.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions accurately for fill or refill.
- Assist customers with over the counter medication recommendations.
- Manage prescription orders, including checking incoming stock and returning unused bottles.
- Communicate with prescribers and insurance companies as needed.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- The ability to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
