About the role#
As a Pharmacy Student Intern at Kroger, you will work in a clinical setting to support pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on providing service to customers while gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of licensed pharmacists. You will contribute to a safe and clean environment while assisting with daily pharmacy tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and recommend over the counter medications to customers.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Interpret and process oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Communicate with prescribers to secure necessary authorizations.
- Manage third-party insurance information and resolve billing issues for customers.
- Maintain inventory by checking, stocking, and returning medication bottles.
- Ensure customer service standards by answering questions and assisting with purchases.
- Follow all safety protocols and report incidents, accidents, or security concerns to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a United States school of pharmacy.
- A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to discuss pharmaceutical products with both customers and prescribers.
- Commitment to promoting trust and respect among team members.
- Capability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
