Pharmacy Student Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Student Intern, you will work in an on-site retail environment to support pharmacy operations and patient care. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in a pharmacy program to gain hands-on experience while assisting with daily pharmacy tasks and customer interactions.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Assist customers by answering questions regarding products throughout the store and pharmacy.
• Input patient and prescription information accurately into the pharmacy computer system.
• Facilitate the prescription process, including accepting and interpreting prescriptions, contacting prescribers for authorization, and processing third-party insurance information.
• Dispense correct medications and manage the delivery of filled prescriptions to customers.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized department while reporting any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to gain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them with customers and prescribers.
• Commitment to promoting trust and respect among team members.
• Ability to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
