About the role#
The Spring 2027 Construction Project Engineer Internship is a 12-week immersive program designed to provide hands-on experience and professional development. Interns work under the guidance of project managers and construction managers to support capital projects, demonstrate company core values, and complete a cumulative project to be presented to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and fixture or refrigeration drawings.
- Support the execution of the contractor bid process.
- Participate in department meetings and team huddles.
- Assist in the inspection of capital projects to ensure compliance with specifications and quality control standards.
- Manage equipment orders, track deliveries, and oversee store fixture installations.
- Handle project closeout tasks such as punch lists, as-builts, final invoicing, and filing.
- Coordinate reviews of refrigeration and electrical or mechanical plans with technical staff.
- Complete specific assignments as required by your academic co-op or internship program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering degree program.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and in group settings.
- High motivation and the ability to take initiative on assigned work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze information for business needs.
