PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy department by providing exceptional customer service and assisting with daily operations. This role focuses on patient care, medication management, and maintaining pharmacy standards under the guidance of licensed pharmacists.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system and dispense medications.
• Communicate with prescribers for authorizations and contact insurance companies to resolve coverage issues.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication to stock.
• Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Facilitate customer transactions and ensure accurate delivery of filled prescriptions.
• Report safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management immediately.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A valid state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-volume environment while managing conflict in a professional, nonconfrontational manner.
• Strong commitment to honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Comfort providing support to diverse customer groups, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
