About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy department by delivering exceptional customer service and assisting with daily operations. This role focuses on patient care, medication management, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety under the guidance of licensed pharmacists.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over the counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system and dispense correct medications.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Facilitate communication with prescribers for authorizations and with insurance companies for claims processing.
- Manage inventory by stocking incoming orders, checking shipments, and returning unused stock.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all customers.
- Support the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while adhering to quality assurance standards.
- Report safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management immediately.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to remain nonconfrontational and professional.
- Commitment to acting with honesty and integrity regarding all customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.

- Location: Mesquite, Texas.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position with rolling terms.
