About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction engineering within a retail environment. Working under the guidance of project managers and construction managers, you will support capital projects from planning through closeout. You will participate in department meetings, manage minor projects, and ultimately present a summary of your accomplishments to the executive team.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and as-built drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and equipment procurement, including tracking orders and scheduling deliveries.
- Help manage store fixture installations and participate in weekly job meetings.
- Inspect capital projects to ensure compliance with specifications and quality control standards.
- Review architecture, refrigeration, and electrical/mechanical plans for completeness.
- Assist with project closeout tasks such as punch lists, final invoicing, and filing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Industrial, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience working in a construction environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong motivation to take initiative and work effectively both independently and in teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to analyze information for business needs.

- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
