About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction project engineering. You will work under the guidance of project managers and construction managers to support capital projects. This is a full-time, paid position designed to help you build professional skills and gain exposure to the industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and drawing reviews.
- Support the contractor bid process.
- Help manage equipment orders, delivery tracking, and store fixture installation.
- Participate in weekly job meetings and departmental huddles.
- Inspect capital projects to ensure they meet quality control standards and specifications.
- Handle project closeout tasks such as punch lists, as-builts, and final invoicing.
- Manage minor capital projects and prepare estimates.
- Complete a cumulative project summarizing your internship accomplishments to present to the executive team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Industrial, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or Architecture program.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience working in a construction environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-starting attitude and the ability to take initiative on tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
