About the role#
The Construction Project Manager Intern supports Buckle construction projects, including new store openings, remodels, and relocations. This position provides hands-on experience in project management within a retail environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist Project Managers with daily project activities and coordinate communication between internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables while maintaining project files, logs, and documentation.
- Help review drawings, specifications, and contractor submittals.
- Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and support change order documentation.
- Monitor project costs, assist with invoice review, and support budget updates.
- Help develop construction schedules, monitor progress against timelines, and coordinate inspections or deliveries.
- Participate in site visits, observe construction sequencing and safety practices, and assist with punch list development.
- Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and status reports for internal stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, terminology, and project management software like Procore or MS Project.
- An interest in retail or commercial construction.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site internship based in Kearney, Nebraska.
- The term for this role is Summer 2027.
- This is a paid, part-time position.
- You must be able to operate a motor vehicle and complete errands based on business needs.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit for long periods, occasionally stand, walk, or kneel, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
