About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern at The Buckle, Inc., you will work closely with the Store Manager to understand retail business operations and management. This role focuses on delivering a positive shopping experience for guests while gaining hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and leadership. You will complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring. This is an on-site, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks such as cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility cleaning.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your own results.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance using company tools.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Greet guests, answer questions, and provide personalized product recommendations to create a wardrobing experience.
- Open and close cash registers, handle deposits, and maintain store security.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
