About the role#
This 12-week internship offers hands-on experience in construction project engineering. Interns work under the guidance of project managers and senior leadership to support capital projects, gain industry exposure, and develop professional skills. The program runs from January 11, 2027, to April 23, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and fixture or refrigeration drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process.
- Participate in department meetings and team huddles.
- Assist with the preparation and tracking of equipment orders and delivery schedules.
- Manage store fixture installations and project closeout tasks, such as punch lists and final invoicing.
- Inspect capital projects for quality control and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate plan reviews with technical staff and assist in reviewing architecture plans and change orders.
- Complete estimates for minor capital projects and present a cumulative summary of internship accomplishments to management.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- High motivation and the ability to take initiative on assigned work.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work both independently and in groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Commitment to customer service and professional integrity.
- Prior experience in a construction environment is preferred.
- Must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship.
