About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering exceptional service and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers. This role involves direct interaction with patients and collaboration with pharmacists to ensure accurate medication management and adherence to quality standards.

What you'll do#

• Promote trust and respect among associates while ensuring customers feel valued.
• Answer customer questions regarding products and provide recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Maintain deep knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage prescription workflows, including data entry, contacting prescribers for authorization, processing insurance information, and dispensing medications.
• Handle inventory tasks such as checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
• Maintain a clean, safe department and report any safety risks, incidents, or illegal activities to management.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A valid, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to resolve issues in a cooperative and nonconfrontational manner.
• Commitment to acting with honesty and integrity regarding all customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
