About the role#
The Construction Project Engineer Intern program is a 12-week immersive experience designed for students to gain hands-on training and mentorship. Interns work alongside industry leaders to drive projects and refine professional skills. This position requires work authorization without the need for future sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and as-built drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and participate in weekly project meetings.
- Manage equipment orders, track deliveries, and oversee store fixture installations.
- Assist with project closeout tasks such as punch lists, final invoicing, and filing.
- Inspect capital projects to ensure compliance with specifications and quality control standards.
- Coordinate reviews of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical plans with technical staff.
- Review architecture plans for completeness and evaluate the validity of proposed change orders.
- Complete estimates and manage minor capital projects.
- Prepare a cumulative project summary to present to the management team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or Construction Management.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in groups or independently.
- Ability to analyze information and apply it to business needs.
- Strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A high level of motivation and the desire to take initiative.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 11 to April 23).
- Modality: On-site.
