About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy department. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure patients receive accurate care and service. This role involves direct interaction with customers, prescribers, and insurance providers to manage prescription needs and maintain department standards.
What you'll do#
- Dispense the correct medication and input patient information into the pharmacy system.
- Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist customers by answering questions about products and providing drug counseling.
- Process third party insurance information and contact insurance companies when necessary.
- Help the department manager reach sales and profit goals while maintaining quality assurance standards.
- Accept and interpret prescriptions, contact prescribers for authorization, and manage inventory.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all customers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- The ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skills to manage conflict in a nonconfrontational and professional manner.
- A commitment to honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
