About the role#
As an Inpatient Pharmacy Intern at Prisma Health, you will assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. This role focuses on supporting pharmaceutical care while following state and federal regulations. You will work on-site at the Hillcrest Hospital campus in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and label drug orders under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Calculate and compound aliquot doses.
- Distribute and transport medications to patient care areas.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock shelves, and maintain a clean work environment.
- Receive or initiate verbal medication orders if authorized by your supervising pharmacist.
- Participate in training and provide support to other departmental employees and students.
What you'll need#
- Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved technician course, or current enrollment in a professional academic pharmacy program.
- Satisfactory progress in your pharmacy program.
- Current registration with the South Carolina State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy intern.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacy terminology and mathematical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and handle urgent situations.
