About the role#
The Spring 2027 Construction Project Engineer Intern program is a 12-week immersive experience running from January 11 to April 23, 2027. Interns work under the guidance of project managers and construction managers to gain hands-on experience in facility engineering and capital projects. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential daily functions, including pre-remodel checklists and fixture drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and participate in weekly project meetings.
- Prepare and execute equipment orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with construction schedules.
- Manage store fixture installations and inspect capital projects for quality control and specification compliance.
- Review architecture, electrical, and mechanical plans for completeness and standards.
- Assist with project closeout tasks, such as punch lists, final invoicing, and filing.
- Complete a cumulative project summarizing internship accomplishments to present to the management team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental Engineering.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a group.
- Strong initiative, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Must possess work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.
