About the role#
The Spring 2027 Construction Project Engineer Intern program is a 12-week immersive experience running from January 11 to April 23, 2027. Interns work under the guidance of project managers and construction managers to support capital projects, gain professional experience, and complete a final project presentation for company leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential daily job functions and capital project tasks.
- Support the execution of the contractor bid process.
- Help prepare and execute equipment orders while tracking deliveries against construction schedules.
- Assist with the management of store fixture installations.
- Participate in weekly job meetings, department huddles, and inspections for quality control.
- Coordinate reviews of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical plans with technical staff.
- Assist with project closeout duties, including punch lists, as-builts, final invoicing, and filing.
- Review architecture plans for completeness and compliance with company standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental Engineering.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative on assigned tasks.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a group setting.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to various organizational levels.
- Must possess valid work authorization for the United States without the need for future sponsorship.
