About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will support the pharmacy team in providing essential care and service to customers. This role focuses on maintaining quality assurance standards, assisting with daily pharmacy operations, and ensuring a positive experience for every patient.
What you'll do#
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
- Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals while monitoring quality assurance standards.
- Accurately input prescription data, dispense medications, and facilitate charge purchases.
- Process third-party insurance information and contact insurance companies or prescribers as needed.
- Provide drug counseling and over-the-counter medication recommendations to customers.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Maintain a clean and safe department environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to gain and maintain deep knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them with customers and prescribers.
- Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to remain cooperative and nonconfrontational.
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding sensitive patient and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a high-volume environment.
