PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team by delivering high-quality customer service and ensuring operational standards are met. This role involves direct interaction with patients, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs, to provide support and drug counseling. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Accurately process prescriptions, including inputting data, contacting prescribers for authorization, and dispensing medication.
• Process third-party insurance information and facilitate customer transactions.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
• Maintain pharmacy quality assurance standards and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized department.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products to competently discuss them with customers and prescribers.
• Ability to manage conflict in a cooperative and nonconfrontational manner.
• Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding business and patient information.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a busy environment.
