About the role#
The Spring 2027 Construction Project Engineer Intern program is a 12-week immersive experience running from January 11 to April 23, 2027. Interns work under the guidance of project managers and construction managers to gain hands-on experience in facility engineering and capital project execution. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and as-built drawing preparation.
- Manage the completion of minor capital projects and prepare associated estimates.
- Coordinate reviews of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical plans with technical staff.
- Review architecture plans for completeness and compliance with company standards.
- Support the contractor bid process and track equipment orders to ensure alignment with construction schedules.
- Assist with store fixture installation management and project closeout tasks, such as punch lists and final invoicing.
- Participate in department meetings and present a cumulative project summary to the executive team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree program.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Strong motivation and the ability to take initiative on assigned work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in group settings.
- Must possess work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
