About the role#
This 12-week internship offers students hands-on experience in construction project engineering. Working under the guidance of project managers, you will support capital projects, participate in department meetings, and complete a cumulative project to present to the leadership team. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and fixture drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and manage equipment orders to align with construction schedules.
- Coordinate reviews of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical plans with technical staff.
- Review architecture plans for completeness and compliance with company standards.
- Inspect capital projects for quality control and specification compliance.
- Manage the completion of minor capital projects and assist with project closeout tasks, such as punch lists and final invoicing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering, or Architecture.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A highly motivated mindset with the ability to take initiative on assigned work.
