PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering exceptional customer service while gaining hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role involves assisting with daily operations, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring accurate medication processing under the guidance of licensed pharmacists.

What you'll do#

• Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense medications and assist customers with over-the-counter product recommendations.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and address inquiries from patients and prescribers.
• Process third-party insurance information and contact insurance companies or prescribers as needed.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
• Maintain department cleanliness, stock incoming orders, and manage medication inventory.
• Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals.
• Ensure a safe environment by reporting safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
• Strong attention to detail when handling patient data and medication.
• Ability to maintain honesty and integrity regarding sensitive business and customer information.
• Capability to work cooperatively in a professional environment and manage conflicts in a nonconfrontational manner.
