About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for pharmacy students. You will work on-site in Athens, Georgia, to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. The role involves supporting the pharmacy team while providing direct care and service to our customers.
What you'll do#
- Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense medications and ensure they are delivered accurately to customers.
- Offer drug counseling and make recommendations for over-the-counter products.
- Help the department manager reach sales and profit goals.
- Communicate with prescribers and insurance companies to resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Handle inventory, including checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to discuss pharmaceutical products with customers and prescribers.
- Skill in managing conflict and working cooperatively with others.
- Commitment to honesty, integrity, and safety in all business interactions.
- Ability to assist diverse groups, including older adults and individuals with special needs.
