About the role#
The Construction Project Engineer Intern role is a 12-week immersive experience designed to provide hands-on training and professional development. Interns work under the guidance of project managers and senior construction managers to support capital projects. This role requires full-time commitment from January 11 to April 23, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with essential job functions, including pre-remodel checklists and fixture or refrigeration drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and participate in weekly capital project meetings.
- Manage the preparation, tracking, and delivery scheduling of equipment orders based on construction timelines.
- Oversee store fixture installation and handle project closeout tasks such as punch lists, final invoicing, and filing.
- Inspect projects for quality control and compliance with specifications.
- Review architectural, electrical, and mechanical plans for completeness and standards compliance.
- Coordinate with technical staff and analyze proposed change orders.
- Complete a cumulative project to present to the executive team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in groups or independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to analyze information and apply it to business needs.
- Prior experience in a construction environment is preferred.
- Must have valid work authorization without the need for visa sponsorship.
