PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations, assist customers, and ensure accurate medication dispensing while maintaining a safe and clean department.

What you'll do#

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Dispense medications accurately and input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system.
• Discuss pharmaceutical products with customers and prescribers.
• Provide drug counseling and administer immunizations under pharmacist supervision.
• Contact prescribers for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
• Process prescriptions, manage inventory, and maintain department cleanliness.
• Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals.
• Handle safety, security, and incident reporting in accordance with company standards.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• Current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Capacity to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding business and customer information.
• Ability to follow directions and provide support to diverse customer groups, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
