PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality care and service to customers. This role involves direct interaction with patients, prescribers, and insurance providers to facilitate accurate and timely medication dispensing. You will work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products throughout the store and department.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Accurately input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system and dispense medications correctly.
• Interpret oral and written prescriptions and contact prescribers' offices for necessary authorizations.
• Process third-party insurance information and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
• Ensure the pharmacy department remains clean and adheres to all safety and quality assurance standards.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity regarding patient and business information.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support diverse customer needs, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
• Capability to handle conflict in a cooperative manner and work effectively in a busy environment.
