PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

This internship position is a full-time, paid opportunity for the Summer 2026 term. Based in Los Angeles, California, this on-site role provides hands-on experience within a retail pharmacy setting, focusing on patient care, prescription processing, and pharmacy operations.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with questions regarding products throughout the store.
• Gain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system and dispense the correct medication.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
• Contact prescribers' offices for authorization and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
• Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication to stock.
• Maintain a clean and safe department, reporting any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.

What you'll need#

• Must be actively enrolled in a US school of pharmacy.
• Must hold a current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and professional manner.
• Commitment to acting with honesty and integrity regarding all customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
