About the role#
This is a paid, on-site Pharmacy Intern position for Summer 2026. You will support the pharmacy department in daily operations, ensuring accurate medication dispensing and high-quality customer service while working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
- Dispense correct medications and accurately input patient and prescription data.
- Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions and providing assistance.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
- Coordinate with prescribers and insurance companies to resolve authorization or coverage issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe department, reporting any safety risks or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy (majors in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Nursing).
- A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to manage conflict in a cooperative and nonconfrontational manner.
- Strong commitment to honesty and integrity regarding business and customer information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
