About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the accurate processing of prescriptions. This role involves direct interaction with patients and requires a commitment to maintaining a safe, professional, and efficient pharmacy environment.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions regarding products throughout the store.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense the correct medication and provide drug counseling to customers.
• Facilitate immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage prescription refills, contact prescribers for authorizations, and process third-party insurance information.
• Maintain department cleanliness and manage inventory, including checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
• Report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activities, such as theft, fraud, or robbery, to management.
• Assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations and provide support to diverse customer populations.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Capacity to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Strong commitment to honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
