PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering exceptional service and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You will play a key role in the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring customers feel welcome and receive accurate care.

What you'll do#

• Promote trust and respect among associates and create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system and dispense correct medications.
• Facilitate prescription fills and refills, process third-party insurance, and contact prescribers or insurance companies as needed.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication to stock.
• Maintain department cleanliness and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
• Assist diverse populations, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to remain reasonable and nonconfrontational.
• Commitment to honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
