About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while ensuring high-quality customer service. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean environment and delivering accurate pharmaceutical care to the community.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Dispense medications accurately and input patient information into the pharmacy system.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Facilitate communication with prescribers for authorizations and with insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
• Handle prescription intake, fill/refill processing, and order management, including stocking and verifying incoming inventory.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions and providing assistance to diverse groups, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
• Maintain department standards by reporting safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Strong ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve business or customer issues.
• Commitment to maintaining honesty, integrity, and confidentiality regarding patient and business information.
