PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy department in delivering exceptional customer service while gaining hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy environment. You will assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and ensuring all quality assurance standards are upheld.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense medication and facilitate the accurate delivery of filled prescriptions to customers.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
• Contact prescribers' offices for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
• Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication to stock.
• Maintain a clean department and report any safety risks, incidents, or illegal activities to management.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-volume environment and manage conflict professionally.
• Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding business and patient information.
