About the role#
This Assurance Internship provides a hands-on perspective of the firm's audit practices. Interns work alongside experienced team members to assist with problem solving and fact-finding for a diverse client base. You will receive direction and coaching while building professional relationships within the firm.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Learn BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, customers, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to audit teams and respond to team members.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting is required.
- Pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to follow instructions, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
