About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced team members to support our client engagements. This internship provides a structured environment to apply your educational background to real-world accounting scenarios while developing professional relationships within the firm.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to build familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Learn BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements, including communication with clients, banks, and creditors.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to audit teams and participate in team discussions.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting (Masters degree preferred).
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow directed instructions.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
