About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to assist with client engagements. This role provides hands-on experience in audit practices and offers an opportunity to build professional relationships while applying your academic background to real-world tasks.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to build your knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Learn BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements, including communicating with clients, creditors, and banks.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
- A masters degree in Accounting and prior leadership experience are preferred.
