Assurance Intern - Summer 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to assist with audit engagements. This role provides hands-on experience in the accounting industry, allowing you to apply your educational background to real-world client challenges while developing professional relationships within the firm.

What you'll do#

• Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to build familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO-specific audit methodology.
• Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements, including communicating with clients, creditors, and banks regarding audit issues.
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
• Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
• Contribute ideas and participate in team discussions.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting (Master's degree pursuit is preferred).
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work effectively in a team, and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
