About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will work with experienced professionals to support our client base. You will use your educational background and organizational skills to prepare returns and extensions. This position offers a hands-on perspective of our firm practices and provides an opportunity to build professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions using tax software.
- Perform quarterly estimates and assist with year-end filing projections.
- Help respond to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Apply firm policies and the BDO Tax Quality Manual to FAS 109 and FIN 48 requirements.
- Assist with income tax provisions and client consulting projects.
- Research tax information using online tools and monitor developments in tax law.
- Organize files and use referencing systems to minimize rework.
- Take initiative on engagement letters and upcoming deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting or a relevant field is preferred.
