About the role#
BDO USA is hiring a Tax Intern for our Core Tax Services team in Ridgeland, Mississippi. This is a paid, full-time internship scheduled for Winter 2028. You will work on-site and gain hands-on experience by supporting our client service teams. This role involves preparing tax filings and conducting research under the guidance of experienced tax professionals.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions under the supervision of senior team members.
- Perform quarterly estimates and assist with year-end filing projections.
- Help prepare components of income tax provisions.
- Use online research tools to gather tax information and monitor developments.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Organize files and documentation to ensure compliance with firm policies and filing requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
