About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to support our audit practice. You will gain hands-on experience with our firm's processes while building professional relationships. This role involves problem solving and fact-finding for our client base.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Become familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to the audit team and respond to the views of others.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred, as is pursuit of a Masters degree in Accounting.
