Tax Intern, International Tax Services - Summer 2027

About the role#

The International Tax Services Intern will support our team in consulting with clients on cross-border tax matters. You will work under the direction of experienced team members to perform tax research, analyze international tax issues, and assist with reporting obligations for international operations. This role provides exposure to global tax law and the opportunity to contribute to client work plans.

What you'll do#

• Assist with developing and implementing tax advice regarding international tax issues.
• Coordinate with international colleagues to understand how US tax rules align with foreign tax law.
• Identify research needs and analyze facts and authorities to prepare Written Tax Advice (WTA) on cross-border transactions.
• Obtain client information for the preparation of international tax compliance forms and informational reporting.
• Utilize tax research databases, including RIA, BNA, and Lexis Nexis, and firm tax software.
• Develop a foundational understanding of ASC 740-10 as it applies to international tax.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, Taxation, or a Master of Laws (LLM) degree program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
• Experience utilizing tax research tools like RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, or Westlaw is preferred.
• Leadership experience and progress toward a CPA license or a J.D. are preferred.
