About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to learn our audit practices. You will assist with problem solving and fact-finding while gaining hands-on experience with our clients. This role is designed to help you build professional relationships and develop your career in accounting.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program.
- Learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO audit methodology.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Share ideas and opinions with your audit team.
- Complete one assigned research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- A Masters degree in Accounting and leadership experience are preferred.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $34.00 to $38.00 per hour, determined by qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
