Tax Intern, International Tax Services - Summer 2027

About the role#

The International Tax Services Summer 2027 Intern will work with experienced team members to assist clients with cross-border tax matters. This role involves performing tax research, analyzing international tax issues, and utilizing software applications to support client reporting obligations for international operations.

What you'll do#

• Assist with developing and implementing critical thinking to provide clients with tax advice on international tax issues.
• Gain exposure to the development of work plans for assigned clients.
• Coordinate with international colleagues to understand how US tax rules align with foreign tax laws.
• Develop an understanding of technical and practical opportunities in international taxation and explore areas of specialization.
• Perform tax research, frame issues, and assist in preparing Written Tax Advice (WTA) on cross-border transactions.
• Assist in obtaining client information for the preparation of international tax compliance forms and US international informational reporting.
• Utilize tax research databases such as RIA, BNA, and Lexis Nexis.
• Develop a basic understanding of ASC 740-10 as it applies to international tax issues.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, Taxation, or a Master of Laws (LLM) degree program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
• Experience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, and/or Westlaw is preferred.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• A J.D. or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.
