About the role#
The International Tax Services Intern will support our team by assisting with cross-border tax consulting and compliance. You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to gain exposure to international tax law, research methodologies, and client service. This role is designed for students looking to develop a foundational understanding of global tax issues and explore potential areas of specialization.
What you'll do#
- Assist with developing and implementing tax advice for clients regarding international tax issues.
- Coordinate with international colleagues to understand how US tax rules align with foreign tax laws.
- Conduct tax research using databases such as RIA, BNA, and Lexis Nexis to support the preparation of Written Tax Advice.
- Gather client information required for the preparation of international tax compliance forms and US international informational reporting.
- Gain exposure to tax compliance software and develop a basic understanding of ASC 740-10 as it relates to international tax.
- Assist in the development of work plans for assigned clients and monitor tax law developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, Taxation, or a relevant field (such as a Master of Laws/LLM program).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
- Experience utilizing research databases like RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, or Westlaw is preferred.
- Prior leadership experience is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
