About the role#
As a Tax Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting tax engagements. You will work alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your development. You will contribute to client work by assisting with tax returns, workpapers, research, and analysis while building an understanding of client needs. Through training, coaching, and active participation on engagement teams, you will strengthen your technical accounting knowledge and communication skills.
What you'll do#
- Support tax engagements and develop an understanding of client businesses, industries, and transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns, workpapers, calculations, and supporting schedules.
- Conduct tax research and document findings to support engagement teams.
- Use firm-approved tax preparation, research, workflow, and document management technologies.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and clients to obtain information and maintain documentation.
- Complete assigned work accurately and on time.
- Apply coaching and feedback to strengthen your technical knowledge and work quality.
- Participate in training, team activities, and special projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled or pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business discipline from an accredited institution.
- At least one academic term remaining following the completion of the internship.
- On track to meet the educational requirements for CPA exam eligibility prior to starting a full-time Associate position.
- Foundational accounting knowledge.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored visa sponsorship.
- Submission of a resume and unofficial transcript(s) is required.
