About the role#
This Summer 2027 internship at BDO USA offers an introduction to information and data risks. You will work alongside experienced professionals to conduct cyber maturity assessments, compliance projects, and other security tasks. The role involves operationalizing client processes, policies, and controls in a full-time capacity.
What you'll do#
- Assist with security assessments and readiness reports, including work related to PCI, NIST, CIS, and HIPAA standards.
- Document client meetings and share summaries with the team.
- Manage individual tasks for cyber security and compliance projects.
- Help develop client reports that include findings and recommendations.
- Create and maintain data flow diagrams.
- Research market solutions to provide up to date options for client projects.
- Budget your time across multiple project requests while monitoring tasks and risks.
- Travel as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program, preferably in Technology, Computer Science, Information Assurance, Business Management, Accounting, or Finance.
- Prior internship, externship, or professional experience in data management, technology, compliance, or business management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Visio, Google Suite, and AI platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical and research skills with a focus on organizing information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels and build professional relationships.
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
