About the role#
This internship provides a hands-on perspective on the audit practice at BDO USA. You will work alongside experienced team members to solve problems and assist with client engagements. This role focuses on building professional relationships and developing your technical skills in a team environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program.
- Learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO audit methodology.
- Support audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, banks, creditors, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Share ideas and opinions with your audit team.
- Complete an assigned research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions as directed.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred, as is pursuit of a Masters degree in Accounting.
