About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will work with experienced professionals to support our client base. You will gain hands-on experience with firm practices and begin building professional relationships. This role focuses on tax compliance, tax accruals, and consulting tasks under the supervision of senior team members.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions.
- Assist with quarterly estimates and year-end filing projections.
- Help respond to Internal Revenue Service notices.
- Use tax software to complete simple returns.
- Gather data to meet filing requirements and monitor upcoming deadlines.
- Organize files to minimize rework for reviewers.
- Apply firm policies regarding FAS 109 and FIN 48.
- Assist with components of income tax provisions.
- Research tax information using online tools.
- Monitor tax law developments and share insights with the client service team.
- Help develop methods to maximize client benefits.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to prepare simple tax returns.
- Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting or leadership experience is preferred.
