    About the role#

    This internship offers an opportunity to join our Specialty Tax practice for the Summer 2027 term. You will work with a team to identify and maximize federal and state tax incentives for clients across various industries. This is a full-time, on-site position.

    What you'll do#

    • Research & Development Tax: Organize and analyze client data to support R&D tax credit studies. You will assist with documentation, participate in client interviews, and contribute to technical reports. You will also help develop client-specific tools and templates.
    • Cost Segregation: Support project planning by reviewing construction and fixed asset information. You will prepare supporting workpapers, conduct technical research, and assist in the preparation of cost segregation studies.
    • Tax Credit Advisory: Help project teams identify and evaluate federal, state, and local tax incentives. You will gather and analyze client information, conduct research on tax regulations, and prepare supporting documentation for claims.
    • General: Participate in client and internal team meetings to understand the tax consulting process. You may travel to client locations to support engagements.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or Construction Management. A JD or LLM is preferred for Tax Credit Advisory roles.
    • At least one academic term remaining after the internship concludes.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
    • A resume and unofficial transcript are required for your application.
    • You must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
    • Willingness to travel to client sites and various office locations.

    Location & details#

    This is an on-site internship located in Irvine, Rancho Cordova, or Walnut Creek, California; Portland, Oregon; Frisco, Texas; or Madison, Wisconsin.
