About the role#
As a Tax Intern at ATBS, you will work with experienced tax professionals to support independent owner-operator truck drivers. This role focuses on helping clients manage their tax needs and business practices. You will serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring their financial documents are accurate and prepared for filing.
What you'll do#
- Reconcile client books and generate Schedule C information.
- Prepare a high volume of federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Communicate with clients via phone and email to capture business deductions.
- Educate clients on best business practices and support them throughout the tax process.
- Answer questions from clients and coworkers to share tax knowledge.
- Ensure all team work meets quality standards and due diligence parameters.
- Contribute to the growth and success of the team.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to solve problems creatively.
- A desire to work additional hours when available.
- Previous experience in tax is preferred.
