About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will start your career by applying your academic background to real-world client engagements. You will work alongside experienced team members who provide coaching and direction. This program offers a hands-on perspective on our audit practices and helps you build professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program.
- Learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Become familiar with BDO audit methodology.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to your audit team.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred, as is pursuit of a Masters degree in Accounting.
