About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2028 term. You will work with various companies across multiple industries, building relationships while assisting with state and local tax engagements. You will contribute to multiple parts of an assignment to gain a broad understanding of the work.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services with existing clients.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Build an understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review current tax processes to find inefficiencies and suggest improvements to reduce tax exposure.
- Coordinate with client IT personnel to gather data for reporting and audit procedures.
- Analyze data to identify potential refunds or credits.
- Assist clients in evaluating sales and use tax software systems.
What you'll need#
- You are an Accounting major working toward a B.A. or B.S. degree.
- You have completed at least 90 credit hours.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- You have strong computer skills and are proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You can work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple tasks.
- Travel to client locations is required, so you must have access to reliable transportation.
