About the role#
SingerLewak LLP is hiring a Tax Intern to join the team in Oxnard. This is a part-time, paid, hybrid position. Interns work on a variety of accounting assignments under the supervision of firm professionals. Your performance is evaluated based on the quality of your work, your application of accounting knowledge, and your ability to meet deadlines.
What you'll do#
- Record transactions in ledgers and prepare trial balances and simple financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts to control accounts.
- Perform schedule computations for accruals, property, and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense.
- Prepare payroll tax, sales tax, local tax, and certain personal income tax returns.
- Assist with audit or review procedures and compile workpapers or other reports as assigned.
- Perform other accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed for engagements.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma.
- At least two years of progress toward a bachelor degree, typically in accounting.
