About the role#
SingerLewak LLP is hiring an Audit Intern who is bilingual in Japanese. This is a part-time, paid internship that offers exposure to a variety of accounting assignments. You will work under the supervision of different professionals and receive feedback on your work quality, application of accounting knowledge, and time management.
What you'll do#
- Record transactions in ledgers and prepare trial balances and simple financial statements using software.
- Reconcile accounts to control accounts.
- Perform schedule computations for accruals, property, and equipment.
- Calculate depreciation expense.
- Carry out audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
- Help prepare payroll tax, sales tax, local tax, and personal income tax returns.
- Compile workpapers and other accounting reports required for audits.
- Support the team with other accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma.
- At least two years of progress toward a bachelor degree, typically in accounting.

- This role is based in Los Angeles and Torrance, California.
- The work modality is hybrid.
- This is a part-time, hourly position with a rolling term.
