About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work within our audit practice to gain hands-on experience in the accounting field. You will work alongside experienced team members who provide direction and coaching throughout your internship. This role focuses on applying your educational background to real-world audit tasks while building professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Share ideas and opinions with your audit team.
- Complete one assigned research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions as directed.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred, as is a Masters degree in Accounting.
