About the role#
The Business Development Intern supports the Growth & Strategy function at Bennett Thrasher. This is a working internship where you will help the firm identify, research, and pursue new client relationships. You will work closely with the Chief Growth & Strategy Officer and partners across service lines, including tax, audit, and transaction advisory. This role involves maintaining the pipeline, contributing to proposals, and producing market intelligence that partners use for client and prospect conversations.
What you'll do#
- Research target companies, industries, and referral sources, and prepare briefing notes for partner meetings.
- Maintain the CRM and pipeline by logging activity, updating deal stages, and keeping contact records clean.
- Support proposal and pitch development by gathering credentials, drafting content, and assembling materials.
- Track competitors, private-equity activity, and industry trends.
- Assist with client entertainment, seminars, association events, and civic functions.
- Prepare internal materials like pipeline summaries, meeting agendas, and market snapshots.
- Coordinate with marketing on campaigns, thought leadership distribution, and content for LinkedIn or the firm website.
- Support special projects such as service bundling, industry targeting, and referral-source mapping.
- Sit in on selected client and prospect conversations to capture notes and next steps.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student (sophomore through master’s) in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to turn notes into clear, professional documents.
- Comfort with research using company websites, LinkedIn, public filings, and industry publications.
- Organization, follow-through, and a professional presence when interacting with partners and clients.
- Discretion with confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a willingness to learn the firm CRM.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Interest in professional services, public accounting, or B2B relationship selling.
- Experience through prior internships, campus sales, fundraising, athletics, Greek life leadership, or client-facing work.
- Familiarity with CRM tools like HubSpot or Salesforce, or proposal software.
- Curiosity about industries served by the firm, such as hospitality, franchising, real estate, manufacturing, or technology.

- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week during the academic year, or full-time during a summer internship.
