About the role#
Bennett Thrasher is seeking an Audit Intern for a position in Dallas, Texas, during the Fall 2028 term. This role provides an experience similar to that of a first-year staff member, offering exposure to various industries and direct interaction with clients under the guidance of seniors and managers.
What you'll do#
- Demonstrate knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and theory.
- Develop an understanding of the firm's audit approach and apply it to assigned sections.
- Document working papers clearly and adequately.
- Review data regarding material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.
- Develop and perform analytical procedures on account balances.
- Plan and perform operational and financial audits to ensure financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP.
- Use current technology and software to research technical issues.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to provide quality client service.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Accounting with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
