Audit Intern

About the role#

Bennett Thrasher is seeking an Audit Intern for a Winter 2028 internship in Dallas, Texas. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience similar to that of a first-year staff member by working across various industries. Interns will assist with financial reporting engagement procedures, prepare and proof financial statements, and interact with clients under the guidance of seniors and managers.

What you'll do#

• Demonstrate knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and theory.
• Develop an understanding of the firm's audit approach and apply it to assigned sections.
• Plan and perform operational and financial audits to ensure financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP.
• Document working papers clearly and adequately.
• Review data regarding material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.

What you'll need#

• Currently working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week.
