About the role#
SingerLewak LLP is hiring a Tax Intern to join the team in Irvine. This is a part-time, paid, hybrid position. Interns work on diverse accounting assignments under the guidance of firm professionals. Your performance is measured by the quality of your work, your use of accounting knowledge, and your ability to meet deadlines.
What you'll do#
- Record transactions in ledgers and prepare trial balances and simple financial statements using firm software.
- Reconcile accounts to control accounts.
- Calculate accruals, property and equipment schedules, and depreciation expense.
- Perform audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
- Prepare payroll, sales, local, and personal income tax returns.
- Compile workpapers and accounting reports for audits.
- Assist with other accounting and tax duties as required during engagements.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- At least two years of progress toward a bachelor's degree, typically in accounting.
