Assurance Intern

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will participate in a structured on-the-job training program to apply your educational background to real-world audit engagements. You will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience with firm methodologies while building professional relationships. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.

What you'll do#

• Participate in structured training to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO-specific audit methodology.
• Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements.
• Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
• Contribute ideas to audit teams and complete an assigned research project to present to a panel of professionals.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting (Master's degree pursuit is preferred).
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
